Our visit to Kamloops Wildlife Park on September 23rd

By October 17, 2022No Comments

It was a really enjoyable time:

The weather was good, some cloud but no rain. Edna (our Chair) organized and led a great visit to the BC Wildlife Park here in Kamloops today.

We started with lunch in the park restaurant, then Edna, who has volunteered for many years at the park guided us around.

Brian Green, our BCGREA president was in town and joined us as well; great to meet you Brian.

Some notables:

  • Feeding time for the two grizzlies, brother and sister Knute and Dawson.Their keeper was there, demonstrating many aspects of looking after them, feeding, checking their health. She estimated Knute, the male is likely over 700 lbs and growing , a really big bear now.
  • Then a train ride, specially opened for us.
  • Afterwards we visited the Raptors, owls, eagles and a vulture and finally to see Clover the Spirit (or Kemode) bear.

Thanks Edna for a great visit!
