When you sign up for electronic communications, here is a description of the kind of content you will receive in the messages from each category. Click on the Titles below to expand each section for a full description of each subscription category.
To be used only for emails approved by the Provincial Executive as necessary to comply with legislation, to inform members about issues directly affecting their pension or benefits, or to ensure that we still have a valid email.
The Pen Newsletter is produced twice annually and is available both electronically and/or as a mailed hard copy. The Pen E-Blast is a short email sent four times per year highlighting helpful information and services to seniors.
This list will include information about BCGREA initiatives and upcoming Annual General Meetings, A.G.M. minutes, and announcements of new Affinity Partnerships or member benefits.
Used for correspondence from your Branch Executive related to branch gatherings, social events or outing, branch newsletters and occasional items of interest to members.
A list used to showcase BCGREA branded items suitable for individual use or potential gifts or recognition to present to guest speakers, etc.
BCGREA belongs to several umbrella non-profit seniors’ organizations, such as the Council of Senior Citizens’ Organizations of BC (COSCO) and the National Pensioners Federation. Distribution will include relevant information received from these organizations. It will also include information about aging, including health and financial information that we receive from other institutions.
Items in this category will be calls for support on issues relating to seniors. Various organizations send the BCGREA information about potential changes to legislation or healthcare and this list will allow us to forward the information to interested members. **Please note** The position expressed by the third-party association may be partisan and may not reflect the position of the BCGREA.
Commercial electronic messages from our affinity partners to distribute their discount offerings and opportunities. Our partners do not have a specific list and will not send messages to you directly. They supply the BCGREA with content, which is then distributed by the BCGREA. Your email is never shared with our partners unless you contact them directly.
