Important Information for all members regarding 2024 AGM
1. The deadline for nominations to the positions of President, First Vice President and Second Vice President is October 1st, although nominations can be made from the floor. Descriptions for elected positions, and a blank nomination form are attached to this email. The nomination process is described in the Elections section of https://bcgrea.ca/policies-procedures/. Completed nomination forms are to be sent to pastpresident@bcgrea.ca
2. The trustee appointment expires March 25th, 2025. Expressions of interest for the position should be sent to the BCGREA president before October 1st 2024 to obtain an information package.
3. The deadline is September 6th for Resolutions to alter the BCGREA Bylaws, to alter the Policies, and to nominate Honoured members. The process is described in “Procedures For Handling Resolutions On Bylaw Amendments And Policy Statements” at the end of https://bcgrea.ca/policies-procedures/. Completed forms are to be sent to secretary@bcgrea.ca
4. Several changes to the bylaws have already been proposed. See the attached PDF. In the left column of that document is the existing Bylaw, with affected text marked in yellow. In the right column are the proposed changes, highlighted in yellow. Explanations for the changes are at the end of that document, indexed by bylaw number.
